You Are Welcome Here!

Our desire is for you to know that your family will always be welcome, loved, and valued at Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia. We want to come alongside families impacted by disability so children and adults of all abilities can grow in grace and the knowledge of the Lord Jesus, as they learn the word, worship, and fellowship as the family of God.

Our Special Needs Ministry exists in order to share God’s Word with children and adults whose learning needs would not be met in typical Sunday School classes or in the main Sanctuary. We attempt to provide one buddy for each student to help them interact with the Scriptures in their own unique way.

Our Special Needs Sunday School classes only meet at the 10:00 am service and are located in the nursery hallway (just behind the sanctuary).

If you are new to the church and would like to have your child join the Special Needs classes, please contact us ahead of time to ensure that we have appropriate numbers of volunteers available.

Plan Your Visit

Sunday School classes meet at the 10am service and are located in the hallways behind the main sanctuary.

The parking lot at the back of the building and the handicapped parking lot on the Philmont Ave side of the building are both accessible.

Sign-in starts at 9:45am.

Our special needs ministry sunday school rooms are divided into three age groups: elementary (4-11); Jr/Sr High (12-17), and adult (18+).

We also do our best to provide buddies (1:1) to help our friends impacted by special needs participate in typical classroom settings as needed.

Fidgets and noise-cancelling headphones are available if needed.

If you are new to the church and would like to have your child join us for sunday school, please contact us ahead of time so we can be prepared to minister to your child most effectively.

Inclusion/Mainstreaming

If you would prefer to have your child in a typical Sunday School setting, we want to work with you to make that possible. If mainstreaming is your preference, please contact us to discuss the best options for your child and to find out which class would be the most appropriate for them. Special Needs Family Fellowship

Are you a family impacted by special needs? Your whole family is invited to attend our monthly Special Needs Family Fellowship! We provide a space for parents and caregivers to meet, share resources, encourage, and pray for one another while the children (of any age) and their siblings engage with our amazing team of volunteers in games, snack time, worship, and crafts.

Pick up a calendar of events at our center kiosk for fellowship dates. We meet on one Saturday a month from 3pm-5pm. Enter through the handicapped entrance on the side of the building and walk straight ahead to the sign-in table, where your child(ren) will be met by their buddy.

Let us know if you plan on coming and who you are bringing with you, so we can be sure to have plenty of help. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to Chris Clark at cclark@ccphilly.org.

At this time, this fellowship is only available to families attending Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia.

Respite Events

As a full-time parent/caregiver, breaks can be few and far between. I hope we can play a small part in lightening some of the load as you drop off your kids with us for three hours, so you can have some time to recharge. We have four respite events each year. They fall on certain Saturdays from 4pm-7pm (pick up a calendar from the center kiosk). We provide a pizza dinner and a variety of activities and games for your child(ren) to participate in. Each child is paired up with a buddy or two to ensure that their time is both fun and safe.

For more information, reach out to Pastor Chris at cclark@ccphilly.org

At this time, this event is only for families who attend Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia.
